Dorothy Campbell, PTA

Hi my name is Dorothy Campbell, and I am a Physical Therapist Assistant who has been practicing for 15 years.  My experience working as a PTA at Jackson has given me the opportunity to work with patients with many different physical conditions.  Such as spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, other neurological conditions, orthopedic reconstructive and poly trauma.

I worked at Jackson Medical Hospital from 2010-2024 in the areas of medical, surgical, neuro and trauma center.  During that time I would provide aquatic therapy to the outpatient patients at the local community pool 2014-2021.  In 2021 the pool at Lynn Rehab Center-Aquatic Center opened and I was the therapist for the adult patients with SCI, TBI, Stroke, Neurological conditions, and orthopedic conditions.  I also have seen clients privately at their home pools or local community pools.

I have completed multiple courses within the Aquatic Therapy area.  My continued education has included courses and certificate completion through the APTA Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy and ATRI, now known as Aquatic Exercise Association.  I am Water Safety Instructor certified through the American Red Cross. And BLS certified through the American Heart Association. I just completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program.  And now I am a certified Yoga Teacher.

A little about myself, I love being outside.  If I am not on my paddleboard or swimming in the ocean, you can find me hiking in the woods. I truly believe the water properties are miraculous and provide so many benefits to so many with varying conditions.

I want to take my experience with working in the pool with people with chronic neurological/orthopedic conditions and bring them the freedom that water provides.
